Protecting Tucker's Future
The Future Protections Committee is studying benefits and drawbacks of various growth management tools and how they have been used by other communities to attain greater control over their future. A few of those tools include incorporation as used by Sandy Springs, Community Improvement District (CID) as used by Perimeter Mall area, zoning overlay district as used by Dunwoody and Stonecrest, and Livable Centers Initiative as used by Northlake, Mainstreet Tucker Alliance and Decatur.
Should you know of strategies used effectively by other communities that you believe might apply to Tucker and might be beneficial for the committee to explore, please contact Cynthia Moe (770) 934-2787, committee liaison to TCA. Also call if you have energy, enthusiasm, skills and/or willingness to make a minimum 2 year commitment to this effort.
On Thursday, September 22, 2005, at 7:00 PM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 2110 Brockett Road, Tucker, the Study Committee will report the findings of their research to the community. MARK YOUR CALENDARS and plan to listen and learn.
